Vegas Turnaround Trip Agenda-
Saturday afternoon – Late Lunch at Grand Lux in the Venetian and shopping at the Outlet’s. Let’s get the party started with dinner at the Palazzo’s First Food Bar and Restaurant with a bangin DJ and scrumptious food! Let’s keep the party going by hopping into the Cadillac Escalade with a cool ass driver and bumpin music (US in a cab, oh hell no! :) On to Club Haze and Eve in the Aria! We shut it down around 3:30AM.
Sunday afternoon – Brunch at the Hash House in Imperial Palace. I didn’t even eat that much but afterwards I was so fat, I couldn’t move! The large portions of food are Ridiculous! The food was delicious and reasonably priced, I can’t wait to go back. Why in the hell don’t we have one of these spots in LA???
This was a great Vegas overnight trip! No love connections but a lot of cute “white boys”. Don’t trip we don’t discriminate…holla if you can hang!
Already making plans to go back in April to hangout for more than one night with LAPD and Sherriff’s Dept.! Stay Tuned….the Adventure Continues…..Smooches

There’s Nothin Better than a Pisces Woman

Happy Birthday Twins!
Hi Beautiful People,
Is it a surprise that March is my favorite month of the year? Of Course Not! It’s my Birthday Month! It’s not a coincidence that my sisters and I are all Pisces women. Not only is it the beginning of Spring but I share this birthday month with several good friends.
March 2011 was so exciting, where do I start???
Shout out to my girl friend Devona H. who celebrated her birthday at Nic’s Restaurant and Martini Lounge in Beverly Hills. You can’t pass up an invitation to listen to “Live Music” and relax with good friends. We had a great time and I had 3 delicious martini’s.
I was so impressed I invited a few friends to this Lounge the following Thursday night (my twin sis was told Thursday’s featured Live R&B music with a great male lead singer). Our friends came out to have a good time, we drank delicious martini’s and we “cut a rug” with a cool crowd of people. 3 Martini’s later (and a glass of Reisling wine) I was feeling really good! I had a GREAT time at Nic’s and was sooo happy that most of our friends were able to come out and party with us. I had such a great time I didn't make it to work the next day, ooooooh, damn shame! Let me not forget to mention that there were some pretty good looking guys in this joint. I conversed with a few that appeared to be really friendly…and I made a new friend…. to be continued ;)
We can’t wait to go back and have a few more martini’s ! Until then…Smooches!
Happy Birthday Devona

For Colored Girls Night!

Can I just say I Love My Girls!
When I found out two of my girls had not seen Tyler Perry’s movie adaptation of the book “For Colored Girls Who Have Consider Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf”. I made it a point to plan a Movie Night at my place. When I first saw this movie it touched me deeply as I believed Mr. Perry did a very good job in directing and casting this film. I felt EVERY woman I knew should see it so we could witness another person’s experience in relationships and relate it to our own life experiences. Unfortunately, I couldn’t invite everyone so I invited my most supportive ER co-workers (sorry for anyone I left out, it was not intentional :). Although everyone wasn’t able to attend we had a great turnout for Ladies Night! We were 8 deep with food and wine and great conversation! Prior to actually watching the movie we came to the conclusion that WE need to have our own Reality Show documenting our experiences as social workers so other people can see what we see in our communities on a daily basis.
For those of you who don’t know, WE are Children Social Workers that dedicate our time to making sure children are safe in their homes and provide resources to families who are not afforded the same opportunities. Depending on the severity we may have to relocate children to another home but we only do this if it is a last resort. Please understand that this is not an easy job and it takes some “hard working, dedicated and passionate people to do this job”. P.S. We are not in it for the MONEY as we are extremely underpaid for the amount of work we are given!! Therefore we drink a lot of wine and plan nights like this so we can maintain our sanity. Do we end up talking about our jobs and have a venting session Yes! Do we have great stories to tell and have some families that make our job worthwhile Yes! Does this job affect our own personal social lives and/or spouses and families at home YES!
Do we go to work every day praying that the children on our caseload are safe and have not been involved in major crises from day to day, YES, so please think twice before you assume you know what it is we do!  Police Officers have told us more than once they don’t know how we are able to do this job and they are the ones who put their lives on the line everyday and they “admire us”. This job can be rewarding but emotionally draining at the same time.
We are told to make sure we take care of ourselves and this is when we have to lean on each other and support each other. Our mental health days consist of planning baby showers, spa days, Christmas parties, happy hours, Vegas trips and movie nights!
OMG!  I had a great time with “my girls” and was happy to be able to spend time with them outside of work. It is the support of these ladies that get me through each day when I don’t think I am going to make it and the stress is overwhelming! I am not happy to have a job in this recession I’m happy I work with such great friends at my job J. My next Friday night event is going to be COED, LOL.
Until Next Time….Smooches

Seeing the Positive in the Negative

2011 Mammoth BlackOut Weekend
Hi Beautiful People,
I am so sorry for the delay but I was honestly working on this Blog after my return from my Mammoth Trip and of course my computer died and none of my work saved because I did not originally start in Microsoft Word. Guess what I’m doing right now! Saving my work, LOL.
So here’s the short version of what you guys missed in my Socializing Escapades.
NBA All Star Weekend (for me) Over Rated !!!! $200 to get into the Club, not that serious! Too many damn black people in LA. Did I stay out late every night, of course! I made the best of it but was happy when the weekend was over J
Mammoth BlackOut Weekend was Interesting. Started off a little rough, was I surprised we left a little late, No! Was I pissed our bus broke down in Mojave for 7 hours, Hell Yes! Did we arrive in Mammoth at 1:30am on a Saturday morning, SMDH. The trip got better when it was time for the pre-party lunch jam and ended with a Mardi Gras party Saturday night with special guest performance by Teedra Moses! Love Connection….uh no J But met up with some other girlfriends and made friends with new girlfriends!! Did we plan some upcoming Single Ladies trips Oh yeah, because we are still on a Mission!!!
** I highly recommend the Mammoth Trip next year if you arrange for your own transportation and get enough people together to rent a Condo it will be a BLAST!
Sidebar-
#1 - I love how a guy tries to give me attention at an out-of-town event where I’m 5 hours away from LA but this same guy doesn’t have time to pick up the phone when we live 15 minutes away from each other in LA. Hmmmmm.
#2 - I love how you text a guy Friday night and no response. Then you call a guy Saturday morning (just in case they didn’t get the text) in hopes to make plans for maybe Saturday evening or Sunday but you get no return phone call. WOW, you have an iphone I know that shit works! Really a sista can’t even get a courtesy call?? I can’t wait to return the favor because he is going to call and I will not be available. Is it too much to ask for some form of communication? I’m not asking for the other “C” word Commitment because you can’t even communicate so you are definitely not eligible for anything else. This is why yo ass stay on the “bench”!! I’m still looking for a 1st round draft pick!
Mix and Mingle: I had a good time at 3 Vinos Restaurant & Nightclub in Covina hanging out with the LAPD. A man with a badge can always come in handy ;) Do I need to be partying on a Tuesday night No, but the unlimited Sangria was worth it!
Upcoming Events: My Birthday on March 20th and the LA to Vegas Baker Run to Support the LAPD/Sherriff’s Dept. and whatever else happens in between!!!
To be Continued…Smooches J
