Doin Me in 2011

Happy New Year Beautiful People!

Okay Ladies this one is for you! We have to make better decisions about our relationships in the future. It's 2011 and I've found, from speaking with my girl friends, that most of us our making the same mistakes. We are young, beautiful, educated, goal-oriented, independent and desirable women. However we are so smart that we make the simplest mistakes. I know times have changed and yes we are now in the year 2011, however some things have got to stay the same! Please understand that I am also at fault in what we are about to discuss, which is why I am able to give the following suggestion! We must get back to "Dating"! If we don't give men a choice they will have to follow suit. No more "situations". No more "meaningless romantic interludes". No more "instant gratification". We complain that these men don't want to commit or be in a relationship but we have to understand that we are too quick to give them what they want too soon. Yes we are independent and we have needs too! But at the same time, in order for us to get what we want we need to take the time to get to know who these guys are so that in the end "WE" are not waisting our time. My suggestion again: We have to get back to "Dating". Let them "court you" and vice versa. Take your time and in the beginning be clear about what it is you are looking for and see if they are willing to make the time to be with you!! If not, then they are not "worthy of all you have to give". Sidebar- It is not all about You and you definitely have to be willing to compromise when necessary. However, the main objective is to make sure he wants to be in a relationship with YOU and then let the FUN begin. Once you give away "your most valuable asset" too soon, you are no longer in control.  We are Women and must use this to OUR Advantage!

I definitely suggest all women read Steve Harvey's 1st book, "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man". I've read it and learned so much. I can honestly say I have been enlightened. Now it's not the Bible but it's very informative. My next goal is to read his 2nd book, "Straight Talk, No Chaser".

Until Next Time...Smooches
