Deeply Inspired

Hi Beautiful People,

It's The Twins Birthday!!!
March 20th
Pisces Baby!

This Blog is the result of those in my life who inspire me. "Every person in my life” has a special place in my heart and inspires me in some way shape or form...however...
My SISTERS are my constant Inspiration!

Me and the Birthday Girl - Sharinna! Love ya

My younger sister Vanessa surprised the hell out of me when she made it a point to create her own clothing store for plus size women when she realized there was a need for this particular size clothing and found that mainstream retail were neglecting plus size women. Now she is the Owner and Originator of Thick Chic Boutique in Inglewood known for selling-out all the hottest clothes straight off the Rack. Every shop that comes after her can only "imitate" as I have seen first hand that my sis has a passion for her clothing store and she is a "go getter" that makes sure her customers are happy, look damn good and represent Thick Chic's Everywhere! I'm so proud of her and I can't wait to watch her business grow and become even more successful !

My twin sister Keesha has an on-going successful career in the Entertainment Industry as a Make-Up Artist. Although there are times when she has to hustle harder than usual to land a gig, I have come to respect and admire her lifestyle as I have witnessed, behind the scenes, how it is a demanding and unpredictable career... I've learned that she is committed to her "make-up artist grind" and she's damn good at what she does for a living...and in the end she makes it Look Oh So Easy!

Could I ever do what my sisters do for a living, uh no, not a chance, Lol. Each sister has her own creative qualities and I promise you I did not inherit ANY of the "creative juices" flowing through their veins.

I’m the Brains in the Family...My job is to try to take over the world, J/K
(Pinky and The Brain, LOL)!
I'm behind the scenes and provide advice (...even if they don't ask for it)
when my sisters need Me the most!

*Okay so Our Birthday fell on a Wednesday in the Middle of the Frickin Week, Booo!*

Our original plan was for my twin sister and I to put on our sweats, stay in the house, lay up on the couch be complete bums, hang out with Princess Bailey, order junk food and rent a video from Redbox...Here enters my girl friend Sharinna – my fellow Pisces partner in crime to Save the Day!  Her Birthday was on March 19th but she was celebrating it on the 20th, PERFECT timing !!! We received an invitation to her Birthday Bash at Rooftop 3100 and there we were on The Guest List. Looks like we have NEW plans...Woo Woo, no pressure on us to plan a party this year!

My twin sis already had a dress in her closet she's been dying to wear and of course she was able to represent Thick Chic Boutique courtesy of our sis Vanessa and was rocking her floor length, off the shoulder black & white with a hint of green ensemble. Nessa always makes sure her twin sisters are looking good from head to toe whether it's casual or club attire. Now I am not always able to fit All the clothes in Thick Chic Boutique because I'm what Nessa calls "a mini-thick chic", LOL.(a 1x in the ass, hips and thighs). But that's okay because then I remembered what I wore for my birthday last year and a light bulb went off !!!
My inspiration for my Birthday Dress came from Philthy Ragz entrepreneur Ms. Gaynelle White in Los Angeles. Another inspiration and positive black woman in my community that I Love to Support...as it is the presence of her clothing store that allows me to be able to purchase the "Hot and Affordable" outfits I love to rock that fit my Personality so much!! My twin sister and I came to the agreement that once you wear a Philthy Ragz dress for your birthday there is no going back. So naturally I had to find something that coordinates with Keesha's outfit. On the exact date of our birthday, my #1 priority was to go to the shop and peruse through all of Gaynelle’s fabulous items. I love going here because she always has her own “unique and one of a kind” styles of clothing. And of course when I arrived she was ready for Me and she always shows the TWINS so much LOVE!! She has such a Big Heart and always passes her blessings on to others. She's one of those woman you love to be around because she's so positive and supportive!
Of Course I found the perfect tie-dye dress that she tailored for me on the spot at the shop!! It doesn't get any better than this! Thank you Gaynelle my dress is Gorgeous!!! I can't wait to wear it again at the Essence Festival in New Orleans and show them How We Do It in L.A. - West Coast Swagg...take Notes!!!

 @Rooftop 3100 -
Happy Birthday Sharinna!!!
Of course we arrived “fashionably late” only to have two seats saved for us in the front row on Karaoke night with the host Joe Torry and co-host Andre Pitre (he was very handsome)!
I was pleasantly surprised to find that most of the people who got up on stage could actually “blow” (not sing but sang) not like Karaoke night at GS Sports Bar, LOL. One amaretto sour and one birthday cupcake later it was time to party on the dance floor. My sis and I can honestly say we had a great time on our actual birth date all because of Sharinna, thanks Boo!! We were glad we were able to dress up, go out and have a good time…in the middle of the week, LOL. I already told you I’m getting too old for this shit (smiley face)! But we had a GREAT Birthday Celebration with our girl Sharinna!! What more could we ask for.
Although we were killin them at the Rooftop in our floor length dresses we/I still didn't meet any NEW prospects. Many tried but couldn't even meet the pre-screening requirements. One was disqualified as he was "special" and knew I was way out his league and shouldn't have even tried to give me his card. I'm sorry ladies but you  know what I'm talking about... You see him from a mile away and pray he don't come up to you...yep that's what I got. Then you have the stripper (from out of state) that dances like one of the guys from the Right Track and has no idea how to dance any other way...he can't even two step because he forgot how. yeah I got that one too! Pray for me, LOL.
The Adventures of SingleNFabulous must go on!
Until next time Beautiful People...Smooches!!!

Resheda's Taco Tuesday Kickback

Hey Beautiful People,

My homegirl Tenisha took this Candid Camera Pic, LOL
I've Officially come to the conclusion that I'm getting "too old for this shit", Lol.
I'm officially on vacation and I don't have any major plans!!! I was excited earlier in the month but now I just want to Relax!!! I am not the young "Thundercat" I use to be,
Lmao!!! I remember back in the day clubbin at The Gate and The Century Club and having the hook up with my boy Gino at the door...no waiting in line just walk right in.

Now in 2013 it's a whole new Game!
Since I don't party as much anymore I don't have any specific spots that I frequent and it's "hit and miss" when picking a good spot. Now days I have a minimum of TOP 3 requirements when picking out a good lounge spot -

#1 Good music -the DJ must be on point, It's Mandatory. Unfortunately, in the present time
there are no more O.G.'s on the 1s and 2s but as a replacement you see an Apple laptop and a set of Beats by Dre headphones. Damn how times have changed.

#2 Good Food - you have to be able to order every appetizer on the menu that makes you fat. But half the time it's this "new school" food that has no flavor, is extra healthy and is just enough to make you mad AND hella expensive...Not to mention the overpriced alcohol!!!

Most importantly...
#3 Good company - is also Mandatory and the hardest thing to scout for at your local hot spot. I'm always on the lookout for a crowd that is friendly, classy and has some eye candy. I know I'm asking for a lot but I know it exists somewhere!!!

With all that being said I ended up having an impromptu Taco Tuesday gathering at
The Game Sports Bar Lounge and Restaurant. For the most part they met the first 2 out of 3 expectations and at this point I had no other options. Lets be clear, I just wanted to eat some delicious tacos, sip on an alcoholic beverage and hang out with my closest friends and GS was the local spot to do it at.

Sidebar - The sad part is that my Twin sis couldn't even come hang out with me because she had to work in Riverside! Booooo...But she gotta make that money! Celebrity Make-up Artist Grind. But no worries, OUR next big birthday event is when We turn the big 40 and its going to be EPIC, lol. You heard it here first!!!

Now Back to our regularly scheduled program...already in progress
Leave it to black folks to always be late...wait a minute I'm always late...so now I know how it feels, Lol. Honestly, they were all getting off of work so I had to be patient. You guys would be proud of me, I actually arrived on time today at 5pm and now it is 5:45pm. I will now order my tacos because I'm hungry! I've only ate once today - my favorite cereal Frosted Flakes! Hey Let's Not forget - I'm trying to hold at least 6 seats and that's hard to do when it's only You and your big ass purse! I refused to pay $100 per table to reserve on Taco Tuesday...it's not that serious. So if these people don't hurry up they will be standing up! As long as I'm comfortable I can't be concerned about nobody else!!!
Me, Latricia and Tenisha - MHS Alumni 20 Years Later, Whaat!!!

Please note - I decided to be productive and I am writing this blog on my iPhone as I patiently wait for my friends to arrive.

6pm-ish, my P.I.C. Timika walks in the door... thank goodness for her because I was really starting to look like I was "single and lonely", LOL.... I'm single but not that Lonely!!!
Not too long after my peeps began to arrive!!!  Tenisha, Latricia, Claudia, Keisha, Lashawn, Tamara, Bruce, Ahmad, Sabra , Seon, Bridget, Lia and more. I was soooo happy and was finally able to just relax and enjoy myself around Good Company!! Let Taco Tuesday Begin!!! Woo Woo!!

P.S. On my way out the door a nice looking guy asked me for my number. I was a little tipsy but I think he was "cool", LOL. He offered to buy me a drink for my birthday but a sista was driving and on my way out the door but you better believe I took a raincheck! I will keep you posted if anything comes of this brief interlude.

The SingleNFabulous "Pisces" Adventures will continue...Stay Tuned. Smooches!!

I'm Doing Me...Having a Good Time!

Hi Beautiful people,

As expected… I fell off the map because more often than not “my job” consumes my life. However, you’d be happy to know that I’ve been getting out a little more J.

It’s been so long that I don’t know where to start! Lord, it’s sad that I have to look at my Facebook Check-In’s to remember where the hell I went, Really?? Damn, I’m getting old, LOL. Here’s a rundown of my February Fun!

First Event - Superbowl Sunday - it was fun and hosted in a beautiful house out in the Valley. Even though the 49ers didn’t win, there were no “potential men” at the party, I drowned my sorrows in peach Ciroc, got a little tipsy and made the best of it.

2nd Event – 2 for 1 Deal - My partner in crime – Timika and I went out to support a friend at a Sunday night function at Nirvana in Beverly Hills. The music was great, the drinks were scrumptious but the attendance was a little low. I’m not sure what happened but it was MLK weekend and I was ready to party and it was the perfect venue to hang out at…maybe next time. Seeing that the night was still early and we still had energy we moved on to the local hot spot down the street. The W Hotel had live Jazz on Sunday nights in the Living Room. I heard about this spot but since I’m always tired I don’t always have the energy to go out on a Sunday night. But this time I was in rare form, Lol. There were so many people it was ridiculous. Of course the smallest men in the room approach Timika and I and started a conversation. Lord, why us. We were cordial but quickly moved on. Why do we attract complete strangers… It must be our lively personalities, lol. After bobbing our heads to some old school music we called it a night. Two hot spots in one night is my maximum, LOL. At least we both agreed that we had a good time. We gave ourselves one day to recuperate (Monday) and were back in the mix again.

Tuesday night we were at Xen Lounge in LA/North Hollywood for Jazz and Art night. This event was not what we expected however once again we made the best of it. The house band was really cool, the drinks were delicious (as always) and it was a great set-up with an open patio. We found out this lounge is owned by celeb couple Duane Martin and Tisha Campbell and they host various events throughout the week. We may have to come back out here to celebrate my birthday in March.

3rd Event – Celebrating my Brother-in-law Davion’s Birthday at The High Bar, Hotel Erwin in Venice/Los Angeles. As usual, I was fashionably late and as a result missed the Sunset on the Rooftop because I was on CP Time…my bad L. My brother Bruce almost cursed me out but he held his tongue and my brother-in-law was just happy that I showed the hell up...thanks brothers, LOL. That was a fun night hopping from place to place and ending up at Il Moro Restaurant in Los Angeles for a delicious dinner…real cute and bougie, LOL.

I think that about sums up all my February Fun and I really can’t complain as I’ve been able to get out more often than usual J. As you can see there has been no mention of meeting any “potential dating candidates” so my journey of being Single and Fabulous must go on.

Soon to come is plenty of March Birthday Madness ;)
so stay tuned.

Smooches!
